Welcome Event

It is our pleasure to invite our participants from the insurance, financial or pension funds industry as well as participants from financial market authorities to a fabulous Friday evening event at the Palais Wenkheim.

History of the Palais Wenkheim

The Palais Wenkheim - a residential palace in Biedermeier style - is situated in the Praterstrasse near the Danube Channel in the second district of Vienna, in Leopoldstadt. It was constructed in 1826 and is the only palace in the Praterstrasse which has survived to this day. Owner of the palais was once the countess Anna Wenkheim, after whom it is named. The architect was Mr. Karl Ehmann.

In the year 1963 the building was listed as a historic monument and given the status of monumental protection.

In the late 1980s the Federal Office for Care and Protection of Monuments allowed the restoration and the use as an office building. With the restoration and revitalisation of Palais Wenkheim the Praterstrasse has again become a focus of public attention.

Since August 2002 the Austrian Financial Market Authority - which is one of our Workshop organisers - is situated in this beautiful Palais.
